Crafted entirely from parcels of the red and pink Muscat, a Petite Grain varietal which develops extraordinary richness if grown to grand old vineyards in Rutherglen. The base wines are regularly racked and topped off as the angels take their share, to perpetuate the marvelous complexity of the style from year to year. Museum Reserve is fortified with neutral grape spirit after a brief fermentation, to encourage the evolution of rich raisined fruit characters in the finished wine. Mornington brings something different to the Italianate Moscato, climactically it is blessed with a real advantage. In Australia, there are fewer traditional stylistic conventions to the handling of Moscato, therefore flavoursome and refreshing versions can be crafted which trump the Europeans. T'Gallant fashions their Moscato to display the virtues of simple, high quality winemaking, picking the grapes at a moderate alcohol level, gentlly pressing and not messing about with the wine too much, practices which are all central to the T'Gallant philosophy.

The contributions of the Stanton and Killeen families to the history of Rutherglen and to the development of Australia's most exclusive wine region are the stuff of legend. Stanton & Killeen are renowned internationally for their peerless fortifieds. An assemblage of cellar aged wines, crafted from precious parcels of fruit grown to quarantined vines, Shiraz and Durif with a host of Portuguese varietals, Touriga and Tinta Cao, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Roriz, a complex mix of rare Rutherglen fruit in astonishing balance.

A blend of varying vintages of predominantly Shiraz and Touriga Nacional wines with a smaller component of Cabernet, treated and fermented separately to the point where an addition of fine brandies arrests the innoculation, preserving natural fruit sugars, textures and varietal complexities. The wines are then held in a combination of seasoned large and small oak barrels before assembling into a ruby style of port. Introducing the youngest range in the Stanton Killeen portfolio, an essemblage of several vintages Muscat a Petit Grains Rouge, rotated and topped up through a system of old oak barrels, according to the traditional Solera system. Muscat grapes are picked at high levels of natural sugar, fermented on skins and fortified with spirit to preserve the opulent sweetness. The original vineyards established by Jack Stanton in 1921 are still yielding world class fortified wines. The Stanton & Killeen parcels are just three kilometres due west of Rutherglen, on picturesque, gently undulating pastorals. Thirty hectares of the best well drained soils are planted to vine, a mix of gravel ridges and red loam slopes, under which lie auspicious porous clays. It is on these latter soils that the Classic Muscat is grown. Sunning the oaken barrels which hold various vintages, rotation of the stocks through a complicated Solera system, slowly develops the melt in your mouth richness, an artisanal recipe handed down through six generations of Stanton Killeen.

Joseph Seppelt was one of many Silesian migrants who fled persecution to settle the new colonies of Australia. He sowed vines in 1851 and had the foresight to establish a brand which endures as one of the nation's great traditions. His son was Oscar Benno, also blessed with a rare sense of vision for the future, he took the selfless initiative to lay down barrels of the finest fortified wine for a one hundred year endowment. These priceless stocks serve as a backbone for the construct of the most lusciou fortified wines, treasured by enthusiasts around the world.

Rutherglen Tokay grapes, synonymous with Muscadelle, picked off the Morris Mia Mia vineyard. The fifth generation of the Morris family continue to make the most memorable Rutherglen Tawny wines. A sublime, oak matured Grenache Shiraz Mourverdre, evolving marvelous complexity after many years under the estate cellars. Grapes are allowed to remain on the vine until high sugar levels and an intense concentration of flavour develop. A true Moscato fashioned from the pick of the most succulent Muscat Gordo and Muscat of Hamburg grapes, light in alcohol, fantastically fizzed, brimming with berries and summer fruits, rose petal perfumes and luscious turkish delights.

A lively cépage of Black and Gordo Muscat grown to the Boulton and Duffy, Burge, Wall and Pratt Vineyards at Swan Hill. Early harvest is essential to arrive at a benign level of alcohol, a palate full of flavour, crispy citrus tang and natural fruit sweetness. A scrumptuous wine with an exotic mix of watermelon, musk and rose petal flavours, red apple, hubba bubba and pink ice cream. It's low in alcohol but a single bottle is unlikely to be enough because with a drink this good, there's no excuse for not sharing.

De Bortoli retain an extensive collection of aged wines maturing in barrel, a rich endowment assembled over many years from estate vineyards, De Bortoli have also acquired precious heirloom stocks from grand estates further afield. Liqueur Muscat is a classic Australian style of rich, fortified wine. This trophy winning effort is bursting with concentrated flavours of raisins and figs, laden with luxurious aged rancio notes.
